On the
average, a dog's training program can begin at approximately
four months of age. Others are not ready to settle down to a
training program until they are about five or sixth months
old. Ideally, the sooner you start the better. It is much
easier to develop good habits at an early age than having to
overcome bad habits later on. The Sir Charles School accepts
dogs of all breeds, and welcomes dogs of all ages. We do not
subscribe to the old adage that you cannot teach an old dog
new tricks. |

 The Sir
Charles School has in-class training programs for both
beginners and advanced graduates. Classes are held twice a week for 4 weeks.
Each lesson is over one hour and is conducted in the evenings at a local park.
Private individual lessons are also available. We offer a 30-day Boarding School Program.
Dogs are trained at various times throughout a 24-hour
day/night. We also offer a specialized program in Behavioral
Therapy and
International Training. |
 Attendance by owner and dog.
In Beginners' Class your dog
will learn to heel on command. This means he will walk at your left
side, even with your body, and at your speed: fast, slow, or normal.
When you stop, he will automatically sit down without being told.
Your dog will also learn to sit, lie down, and stand on command. He
will remain in any of these positions when you command him to
"Stay" and will not move until you command him to do so.
When you call his name and command him to "Come," he will
return to you and automatically sit in front and facing you. In
Beginners' Class we will also correct your dog's bad habits that are
annoying you at home, like digging, chewing, biting, barking etc.
The Sir Charles School does not merely train dogs it educates them
and The Dogs Love It.

At Sir Charles School we
recognize that there are those who, because of business, travel, or
social commitments, are unable to attend regularly scheduled
classes. For you we offer a variety of alternatives.

At our
Boarding School we complete a full and comprehensive training program for you. Mr.
Holzman will personally direct your dog's training from start
to finish. This in-depth training program extends for 30-days
and includes numerous mini-training sessions conducted at
various locations over a 24-hour-a-day/night period,
applying the same methods that were used in the training of
Charlie. Your only investment of time is a personal
consultation with Mr. Holzman at the completion of the course
so as to familiarize you with the training
principles involved. Student dogs are kept in a
home-like living environment and are not
confined.

The Sir Charles
School acknowledges that not all dogs "want to please" and
that some are even viciously resentful of efforts to train
them. Our methods are effective for these difficult dogs as
well and we believe that since they have been bred and
influenced by man, they have the "moral" right to
rehabilitation training. If your dog is committing "behavioral
crimes," we can arrange for a home interview to assess and
solve the problem through proper training to fit the
individual case.

Wherever you are, worldwide, we
can train your dog for you using the same procedures outlined for
our Boarding School. Send us a complete history of your pet and the
training goals you wish to accomplish, and we will schedule a date
for training.
